Hi current or former Pepperdine students! I'm an admitted transfer (technically I'm a first-year, but I have about 60 credits from dual enrollment HS classes so I had to apply as a transfer) and am wondering if I can choose which dorm I want to live in. I'd like to live in Lovernich. Is this a possibility? Or will I be forced to live in a "Suite Style Residence Hall?" I feel as though you'd have more freedom in the Lovernich dorm.

My best suggestion is just to talk to the Housing and Residence Life staff at Pepperdine. They are very friendly and will probably be glad to help.

I’m a first-year student at Pepperdine, and I currently live in one of the suite-style freshman dorms. It’s a great environment for getting to know people and having a sense of community, but may be awkward if you’re older and living with a bunch of new freshmen.

I have a couple friends in Lovernich, and they seem to really like it. Lovernich is a bit further away from main campus, so it’s a longer walk, but you get a kitchen and living room area that you share with 2-3 other people. Mostly juniors and some seniors live there; most students choose to room with their close friends. You definitely get more freedom there since it’s more of an apartment-style setting.

Either way, Pepperdine housing is excellent and you really can’t go wrong either way. My best advice is to call HRL and talk to them about your options. Good luck!
