My brother and sister both attend Pepperdine, and neither feel it's too strict. They are both very involved in the greek system as well as many other activities both on and off campus. While Pepperdine is a "dry" campus, there are those who do party and drink. There is a requirement to attend a weekly convocation that may or may not be religious in nature. Most of the time it's considered "inspirational and motivational". There is definetly NOT any type of indoctrination going on. I hope I and one day go there, but it's getting very difficult to get in. The acceptance rate this year was 23%! If you can afford it (very expensive, but they are generous with financial assistance), I would recommend Pepperdine over UCR any day!

Good point Carolyn.

Pepperdine, from what I've gathered in talking with recruiters, will get her much farther than UCR, and it's not like she'd be "settling."

I personally hate UCR. my boyfriend goes there, so i am there quite a bit. the campus is nice, but the second you step off campus you are in a terrible neighborhood. on weekends the dorms and campus are completely empty. EVERYONE leaves. its not the best college experience. Also, class sizes are huge. i sat in a lecture that had almost 500 ppl in the room. it was nuts. i dont mean to be harsh, but i would never go there even on a full ride scholarship.

THanks Thanks ^.^
