<p>Rejected = zero chance. Waitlisted = small chance. Which is better for students who actually want to attend WashU?</p>
<p>2006 was an exception. WashU had a much higher than anticipated conversion rate - resulting in over enrolment of last year's freshman class. It is possible that they accepted a smaller number this year to prevent that from happening again. That combined with a record number of applications made admisions very competitive this year. Depending on conversion, it would not surprise me if some students were taken from the wait list this year.</p>
<p>Adding to what ST2 said, this year there was only one ED with 134 accepted</p>
