Perfect # of APs per year.

In your opinion, what is the ideal # of AP classes per year?

My opinion:
9th gr 2
10th gr 3
11th gr 4
12th gr 4

grand total: 13,, and National AP scholar by 12th grade :D

9th - 2
10th - 4
11th - 5
12th - 5

This is ridiculous. My high school won’t let us take AP classes until Junior year… I feel cheated.

^ There is self-study.

^Most high schools won’t even let students self-study for fear that they might bring down the AP score averages for the respective subjects. If this happens, the school’s reputation lowers.

My schedule:

9th- What is AP?
10th- 3 (APUSH 5, APES 5, APHG 5)
11th- 4 (AP Calc AB, AP Physics C Mech, AP Chem, AP Psych and I may take the AP English Lang test)
12th- IDK, at least Stats and English Lit, but that would complete all of the AP classes offered at my school.

I think the way our school does it is pretty evil.

9th- No option, except for languages.

10th-One. Only one.

It’s AP Chemistry. Killer of regular students who think they can just take this class because they’ve done well in regular classes. IMO helps limit the amount of people who take AP next year.

11th- Whatever the frack you want.
12th-Same

9th - None
10th - None
11th - 3 max
12th - 4 max

This is how my school does it. No self studies allowed.

I wish I had done:
9th: 1
10th: 3
11th: 4
12th: A lot.

(inc. self studies)

grade- details - (tests taken that year(

9- we’re not allowed -_- (0)
10- AP US 1 and AP Macro only but im self studying psych as well as taking APUSH 1. I took precalc instead of ap macro(1)
11- im taking 5 (including APUSH 2), self studying ap env so (7)
12- im taking 4, AP bio is divided into 2 classes in my school for some reason (3)

For me, it’s this:
9th grade: APUSH (5), Comp sci A (5)
10th grade (this year): AP Bio, AP chem, AP English Lang, AP Euro, AP environmental, AP psych
11th grade: AP calc BC, AP English lit, AP Spanish, AP Us gov, AP physics C, plus organic chem at a local college
12th grade: all dual enrollment

uhhh please?! are you kidding me???
there are 32 total ap classes, comes out to 8 per year.
whatever your school doesn’t offer, self study.

^
lol
tsenchar

In sum, he will finish every AP, except Japanese, Chinese, and Art.

My AP schedule.

My school doesn’t really allow it until 11th, unless you could take a language or math in 10th grade. You’re absolutely not allowed in 9th grade.

Then in 11th, you don’t have many options, really only languages, US, Bio.

So I’m taking 2 this year (classes) and self-studying for 2.

Next year, probably 3 classes.

Is that okay?

I go to a public school, and the max is 6 AP’s per year unless you get the principal’s permission

9- not allowed
10- 3
11- 3 to 5
12- 3 to 5

You guys have crazy schedules. And Jozhekryx, you quoted your own brother who didn’t even post anything. Wahh??? O__o
And 10 AP’s!?

Ideally:

9th-0
10th-1 or 2
11th-4 to 6
12th-4 to 7

Me:

9th-0
10th-4
11th-8 or 9 (5 from classes+3 or 4 self)
12th-5 or 6 (no self)

We have 2 AP’s at my school, and my parents refuse to pay for my self-studying. My school refuses to pay for it as well.

At my school, I think it’s fair.

9th - None available
10th - AP Euro
11th - Whatever we have available
12th - Same

For me it was like:
9th - What’s AP?
10th - AP Euro sounds scary; not going that.
11th - AP Chem and APUSH.
12th - AP Calculus & AP Gov/Econ (they’re each a semester at my school.)
