permanent photo ID

one last question, sry for taking over the board.
Where can I find more information on the permanent photo ID? Do we have to send in a picture of ourselves? will any picture do? are there any forms to fill?

The page for ID cards is here.

There will be a form sent at some point during the summer for you to return. You can send a picture of yourself, or you can have one taken at Card Services during Orientation. I would advise sending a picture of your head that you are comfortable having represent you for possibly the next four years.

thank you for being such a great guide for us prefrosh mollie, you rock!
so do I just put a picture into an envelope and write “permanent ID photo” and mail it to mit? no forms?

No, I’m sure there’s a form. If it hasn’t been sent yet, it will be sent eventually. And if you miss the mailing, you can get your picture taken when you get to MIT.

I thought we were supposed to send the picture to Herff Jones for the Freshman Record, and then they would use the same one to make an ID. But I may have misinterpreted.

^ No, that sounds right.

@eisensteinprime,

That’s what I did…

Idk if that’s right though. Anyone else weigh in?

Thanks.

Copied from the website:

Information from Herff Jones regarding the class picture book and your MIT ID card is enclosed in this mailing. The Freshman Picture Book is a directory with photographs and information about all entering freshmen at MIT. Even if you choose not to purchase a copy, your photograph will appear with those of your classmates and will be used for your MIT ID.

The last line is key :D
