Personal Statement Business School

Hi everyone,

This quarter I am applying to the Foster Business School and I am at the point of writing my personal statement and I am confused on how I'm supposed to write it. There are four topics you're supposed to respond to and I'm wondering whether I'm supposed to respond individually to each topic or write the personal statement like an essay. Can anyone that has applied shed some light? Sorry if I am not being clear on the subject.

It is individually. On the application there will be four fields for your answer, not one.

Yes, these are individual essays. The application has separate section for each essay question, and the 1000 word limit (if I remember it correctly) refers to the total words for all four essays.

Good Luck!!!

Any tips on writing those questions? BTW, I know the essay prompts were the same for last year and the year before that. I’m probably going to be applying in Spring Q 2013 for Fall 2013 admission, do you guys think it will still be the same?

Tips: be honest, specific, and succinct (if you are going to answer all the questions). Yeah, you don’t have to answer a question if doesn’t apply to you (as far as I remember). Do go to a Foster application workshop - they can greatly help you with your questions and explain the process.
The prompts most likely will be the same.

I was once told by a Foster School adviser that among other things, they give importance to leadership skills. So, make sure to write a good essay for the leadership question (if it applies to you).
