does NYU require a personal statement ?
if so does anyone have a previous years prompt so I can see what it would be like ?
thank you

they have several short essay responses that have to be filled in online (no attachments) and therefore have to fit into the required character count.

Aren’t they common app? Don’t they just take the common app essays?

NYU accepts the Common Application (and, of course, the personal essay that goes along with it). However, there is a NYU supplement with short answers requested of the applicant. There was an earlier thread about this. Let me see if I can retrieve it.

OK, Found the link. ^

So you send the common app essay as well as the NYU supplement? I only ask because my common app essay is really good (at least in my opinion), and NYU is my ED school so I’d like them to see it.

hotpotato, Yes^. You have to send in the Common App essay along with the NYU Supplement if you choose to do the Common App. This is assuming NYU does not make
any major changes in application requirements for the upcoming year.

let’s hope so, I really think my common app essay is gonna make a big difference in my application.
