<p>Is there a book that any of you would recommend (or website) on how to craft an effective PS? My daughter is working on hers and would love to see a compilation of sample personal statements simply to serve as a springboard.</p>
<p>No books I know of. That other pre med website has a thread of general guidelines for personal statements with some follow up discussion. </p>
<p>But no examples. </p>
<p>Probably because anyone who posts a PS becomes instantly publicly identifiable. (And that’s not a good thing…) Also a PS is terribly personal thing. What works for one person won’t necessarily work for another. </p>

<p>Check with your university for seminars on writing the personal statement. My D went to two this spring - both on campus - one given by the career development office and another by the English department.</p>
