<p>But really, these "sample statements" are pretty worthless. Spend time writing your own PS and have a lot of people you trust review it for you.</p>
<p>There's a couple of books out there (by Baron's and Princeton Review) that have some examples. I've read both of those (one features personal statement of applicants who got into top med schools and the other one features personal statements from a broad range of applicants from those who got into top schools to those who didn't get into med school). I think books like these are good to read just so you can make sure your personal statement isn't too off base but I had trouble distinguishing the personal statements that led to acceptance into prestigous schools vs. the personal statements that led to acceptance at less prestigous schools. Unless you are a terrible writer, I feel that the quality of your personal statement is determined by the quality of your life experiences.</p>
