Knowing that most campuses are at least fairly diverse and that no monicker can adequately describe everyone, what would you hand on the typical SLO student? Nerd? Cowboy? Preppy? Aggie? Hipster? Jock? Other? What type of kid typifies the CP SLO student body?

haha i’m sure you can find any of those descriptions at cal poly, considering it’s an extremely good school for engineering and also you can find many spirited and outgoing people there!

mix of everything u just said

Do the play music in the quad? I don’t remember hearing anything while we were there. Someone told me that it was always country music. That didn’t seem to jive with the feel I got while there. It appeared to be diverse with a full gamut of types and interests.

@eyemgh:
No, they don’t blast country music out loud. The great thing about a large student body is that you’ll find a group of people you can hang out with. It’s not like high school where you’re stuck with around the same couple hundred people.

There are lots of diverse people here and great clubs to get your hands dirty and meet great people.

@eyemgh lol Yes! So funny you mention the country music! When DS and I visited in October we noticed the country music playing. DS and I aren’t in to that type of music but we didn’t find it to be offensively loud or anything. Almost seems kinda fitting at a school where you pull up to the information booth and see a horse at the passenger side window of your car.
