Petitioning for Kelly

kellys strict criteria of needing a 1270 on your sats (math and verbal) to get in has put me in a heartbreaking position with a 1260!!! Although kelly offers hs seniors rejected from kelly an opportunity to petition if you are just short on your gpa or sat, which i did. Does anyone know the percentage of how many who petition get in to kelly?

I hope you spelled Kelley correctly.

kelley**** sorry if i offended you violin

Do you have a 3.7 GPA? If you do, get that recommendation, write a decent personal statement and you should be able to get.

yaa and i did all of that i just wanted to know whether they accept everybody who does that or just some.

Just some (I’m guessing it’s about 60-40 to get accepted, though). My own son had exactly the same SAT score as you (1260) but back at the time that he applied to IU and Kelley (2006) there was no petition process–so be happy that you at least have that option.

P.S. My son did get into Kelley via the regular admission process–so even if you are denied direct admit status, don’t give up hope. The regular admission process isn’t that difficult for those who stay focused and work hard (and if you already have a high school GPA of 3.7, you obviously don’t have a problem with focus or hard work).

You’re so close that you will get in, no worries. I went through the same process as you and was short with my GPA instead and got in.

I do not want to depend on transferring to Kelley though because I am the type of kid that will start to care more about gettin with girls and partying than my work. Thanks dman that will help me sleep at nighttt
