Hello,

What movement would a petroleum engineer have into business schools?

Petroleum engineering is my current undergrad focus however I would eventually want to move into more business management type work. Would a petroleum engineer with business experience have issues getting into business school?

What would the movement into a top tier (Harvard, etc.) MBA program be? Would it be simply out of reach?

What about JD/MBA? Would that be feasible?

I’ll change this: would it be at all feasible for a PETRE undergrad to move into a Finance MBA?

Sure, as long as you find a good job in your industry and gain a few years of experience, you can get into a top B-school just fine as long as your scores are good. There are no specific “finance MBAs” but there are schools known for finance concentrations like Wharton and your chances would be no different. After that you could do consulting or investment banking with the experience you gained or go back into your industry

I plan on getting a minor in Economics along with my BS in PetE. If I need more business background than that, hopefully the future company I work for will pay the tuition.
