Pets at sf state?

I read their policies and it said cats are prohibited but is that rule actually followed ? I really want to bring my cat because she doesn’t like the rest of my family and I know she wouldn’t be trouble in a dorm. She never has accidents and just sleeps all day so why not? Are there other people out there that have snuck their pets into the dorms and not gotten caught?

If the school says CATS ARE PROHIBITED, then cats are prohibited!.

You, obviously haven’t lived in a dorm.
The school doesn’t want “problems”.

You may think the she wouldn’t be trouble in a dorm, but how would you know that?

San Francisco has housing problems.

The properties are tiny and that means: roommates living in close quarters.

Why would you purposely subject your roommates to a cat just because you want to illegally keep a cat at school? Your cat needs to stay home, or you can pay the $3000 a month rent in San Francisco and try to find a private studio for you and your cat.

Subjecting your cat to a new environment, with tons of loud kids and varying routines, is cruel, not only to your cat, but also to dorm mates who may have allergies.

You, and your family would be sued if anything were to happen to a roommate because you want to bend the rules and sneak a cat in.

Also, if you still decide to bring a cat, and you are caught, they have the right to kick you out of the dorm (you do sign a rental agreement, as an ADULT, saying you will follow the rules). Then you will struggle to find housing in SF.

You won’t last at a university if you already think that rules don’t apply to you.

Cats are prohibited and the rule is enforced. Leave kitty at home and bring her when you move off campus (to an apartment that allows pets).

When I was in college someone down the hall had a kitty and another person had a python named Monty. Luckily the two never met. Both were prohibited, and one time the RA told the cat owner, “I want to look the other way, but when I walk by your room, the cat sticks his paw out under the door.” I imagine that dorm life today is not as welcoming of our animal friends.

Are you planning to stick the responsibility of hiding your secret, ensuring the pet’s welfare, and cleaning/replacing anything the cat ruins on your roommate?

Depending on the cat, some people may have serious allergic reactions and no offense but your cat (or anybody elses) is not worth my well being.
