PFAS(Penn Financial Aid Supplement) question

I am filling in the PFAS form for my son. Confused with the "Student Financial Information" part.

Student Financial Information

Indicate the amount of assets e.g. bank accounts, stocks, bonds, CD's, UGMA's,
Section 529 or other educational saving plans in your(student's)name from the
following sources:

Source Amount

Parents $________________
Gifts from others $________________
Earnings $________________
Inheritance $________________
Others(please specify) $________________

My question is regarding the "Earnings". What to put? parents earning or student earning?
Please advise if you did this form before. Thanks in advance!

nvm didnt even know this was required

students earnings if they have a job. i’m pretty sure you already put your earning somewhere else on the supplement

Thanks for replying, patels11. There is nowhere to put parents earnings in the supplement except in this #5 earnings. The supplement is almost the same as CSS Profile, but less clear what to put in the form in several places. Still could not figure out the “earnings” thing. Anybody who have filled this form, please clarify, thanks.

Operative phrase is “in your(student’s)name”. Your earnings cannot be in student’s name. They are already getting your income tax returns, FAFSA and CSS. Do not worry, they know very well what your earning is.

Thanks, ttparent. Your explanation makes sense. Here the “earnings” item should be the student’s earning, and the “parents” item should be the part of the money of the parents which is under the student’s name (for example, 529 saving plan is parents money but under the student name).
