Is’ there such a degree?

There are pre-pharm students, but many of them are chemistry or other majors and they are taking the req’d pre-pharm pre-reqs.

Yes there is
Its one of best majors to take while preparing for pharmacy school
i just cant figure universities which offer it
i only found Purdue

If you’re instate for Purdue, why not go there?

If you’re not instate, then I can understand not wanting to pay the OOS prices…

What state are you in? What does your state offer?

I am not instate
Im from California, i dont know i could not find any schools which offer this bachelors degree

Do you know any colleges which offer this as a major?

Thanks

I think you’re focusing on the wrong thing. That major isn’t necessary at all. Most pre-pharm students don’t have that major. Pharm schools don’t require that major.

You need to focus on getting into a good, affordable school that has a pre-pharm track.

I don’t know where you live or how far you can travel, but have you heard of the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia? I believe they have a major in Pharmaceutical Sciences, and they’re (relatively) near UPenn if that interests you at all.

You wrote this in May…

Uc riverside
HI, I am planing on enrolling at UCR and my is major biochemistry
i wanted to know if UCR has a good pre-med adviser, because after graduation i plan on applying to a medical school

Are you enrolled to attend UCR this fall, if so, that’s fine…proceed with the pre-med/pre-pharm track…they’re practically the same. Pre-pharm may have more chemistry…so majoring in Chemistry would probably work well.

Rutgers University, NJ has grad programs in Pharmaceutics, Medicinal Chemistry, and Pharmacology and Toxicology.

Thanks for the update on which colleges have a Pharmaceutical sciences major

I want to know whats the most sufficient thing to major in prior to pharmacy school
I dont want really major in biochemistry, chemistry or biology - I want to stand out and be unique
But, I am worried that if i major in any other field that i will not be able to complete my pre-courses for pharmacy school in time

Purdue, Ohio State, University of Buffalo and I think the University of Maine

You can either take Pharmacology courses and apply to grad school if that is what you plan to pursue or you can get your Bachelors of Pharmaceuticals Sciences (BSPS) from the schools I listed. Also check out University of Minnesota- Twin Cities.

Thanks, I have already looked into Purdue but the other universities are to far to leave home for
Do you think there is a way if i major in another degree besides biology, chemistry or biochemistry for me to get into pharmacy school?
Will i be able to finish my prerequisites in time for applying to pharmacy school

For Rutgers, for example, most pharmaceutical science grads have undergraduate degrees in pharmacy, engineering, chemistry, and biochemistry.

*I dont want really major in biochemistry, chemistry or biology - I want to stand out and be unique *

The major isn’t what makes a person “stand out and be unique.” Your grades, your PCAT, your ECs, your research, etc…that’s what makes you stand out. Not one major.
