I've been researching job prospects for biology majors but they look pretty depressing. Biochemical sciences is also on the list of the 25 college majors with highest unemployment rates. But I came across a job called pharmacuetical sales rep. Im really interested because if I didnt do something in life science I would probably do marketing. How is the job out look for a pharm. sales rep. Also, to enter that field, what should you major in?

Sales is always a good career for people who have the appropriate personality and can tolerate the high stress and preasure. Pharma sales is a bit less preasure but anything pharma is pretty unstable.

I have seen many pharmaceutical sales reps coming thru my office with various majors: English, business/marketing, chemistry, dietetics. Great personal and communications skills are important for a sales person to have. Some sales reps travel 80-90% of time.
