pharmacy anyone?

<p>u got no chance man ... your sat scores r way too low</p>

<p>up your volunteer hours to 1000, then u might actually "have" a "chance"</p>

<p>r u serious?</p>

<p>bio_freak,
The UOP 2+3 pharmacist I know, says SAT's are very important. You have time to improve the scores.
Good luck</p>

<p>Hello, everyone.
I am currently a freshman interested in transferring to a pharm. school after my soph. year. I am an international Asian male.(Yeah, I know that being a non-citizen in the U.S. is a disadvantage when it gets to admission issues)
My point is, how hard is it to get into a pharm. school for international students?
Do you have to get almost a 4.0?
What is the avg. GPA of international students who get into pharm. schools after their first two yrs.?
How weighed are org.chem courses?(I might get a B or B+)
Do pharmacy schools look differently if you get a B in org.chem during freshman yr. from getting the same grade during the soph.yr?
What courses do pre-pharm. students most struggle with?(org.chem? physics/calculus?)
I appreciate everyone in answering all of my questions and adding additional info. whenever needed. :)</p>

<p>I'd get your SAT score above 1350? I think so you can also try to apply for the regents scholarship</p>

<p>hey....im a current senior in high school
i was accepted into the 2+3 pharm school at UoP and the TAP program at USC
here were my stats:
SAT I 1480
GPA 4.22 (weighted)
SAT IIs (i dont know if they really matter)
Chem: 800
Writing: 730
Math IIC: 800
Math IC: 800
Bio: 730
APs: Chem (5), Eng. Lang. and Comp. (4)
currently taking Spanish, Bio and Calc BC</p>

<p>ultimately i decided to go to USC because i was told from a former professer at USC who graduated from UoP pharm school that the USC program was of a higher quality. I visited UoP for profile day (i coudlnt go to honors day due to a trip) and it was a reaaaaally nice campus. The areas not ghetto at all, its more like farm country. The pre-pharm advisor, Dr. Gunderson, seems like she cares about students a lot and the pharmacy/health sciences building is brand new. However, I thought USC's program and connections would benefit me more.</p>

<p>CONGRATULATIONS from a USC grad!<br>
USC was the first Pharm D program in the US but I think that either school would have been a great choice. I work with several UOP grads, including a recent 2+3 grad and they all had great educations.</p>

<p>UoP stands for University of the Pacific and is located in Stockton, CA near Sacramento.
USC stands for University of Southern California and is located in Los Angeles, CA.</p>

<p>I heard MCPH has newer buildings and better facilities than NU, and that NU's lab facilities were very old and worse than those of high school lab fac.'s. Probably b/c less care was taken in NU.</p>

<p>Isn't it that you can get just a regular pharm degree or you can get a DOCTORATE in pharmacy which is more prestige? Where you'd actually have a Pharm D. behind your name? lol - I tried this website you might want to check it out: <a href="http://www.studentpharmacist.com/forum%5B/url%5D"&gt;www.studentpharmacist.com/forum&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/p>
