Pharmacy or psychology?

Pharmacy or psychology?

I'm debating between the two. What are the significant pros and cons of each?

Sooo confused...

Pharmacy = employment. Psychology = ???

Pharm has alot of natural sciences while psych is a social science. You would probably need a grad degree to find a good job in psychology, and pharmacy is 6 years, so the time investment is pretty equivalent there. Pharmacy trains you to be a pharmacist in one of many practice areas. Psychology would probably be employable in a wide variety of industries - it is just less certain than pharmacy. I think salaries would always be higher in pharmacy.

It will always be easier to transfer from pharm to psych rather than the reverse. If you are truly on the fence and have the option, go with pharm while you decide as you might not get admitted later on.

Okay... I'm just confused as to go to Pitt as a pharmacy major (already conditionally accepted) or to go to Villanova, Lehigh, or Bucknell as a psychology or neuroscience major...

so many options...

I'm just worried about the job prospects for psychology && how hard it is to get into PhD programs. I heard its harder than medical school... but I am more passionate about psychology than hard science.

Well, good luck with your decision. Nobody can really make it for you, but maybe you can bounce some ideas around with the people who know you best.

I can tell you that you won't have much time to explore elective subjects in Pitt Pharmacy School, and you will take a lot of science. Also, the atmosphere at Pitt is probably much different than the other schools you mentioned. Yeah, so you just have some soul-searching to do. You must be a good student since you got conditional acceptance, so you will probably do fine with whatever you choose.
