I know there are already a ton of threads on this but I'm stressing out and I don't know what to do. I'm a high school senior and I got accepted into two awesome programs: 0-6 PharmD and 5 year co-op Business Ad. Both are in different schools. I know that I like the Business school better, and I'll be able to pursue my other passions like theater. I'll have time to do both. But pharmacy is so practical. You make so much money and once I'm done with 6 years of schooling, I can travel and I'll be able to afford to do and see theater. And I'm not completely opposed to chemistry, which I know is important in PharmD. Unfortunately, because of the workload, I feel I won't have time to participate in theater and truly enjoy college. Also, I job shadowed a pharmacist once, and it was the most boring experience of my life. If anyone can give me some advice, I'd be really greatful. It's just so hard to make a decision now about something that will impact my entire life. (And I only have 1 more week before the deposit is due!)

How long did you job shadow for, and do you know how accurate your perception was of a typical pharmacist’s day? The answer to this will determine whether you should strike pharmacy off of your list.

It sounds to me like you would appreciate your education and experiences more at the business school, whereas pharmacy might leave you very unhappy and unfulfilled. I would suggest more job shadowing and maybe interviewing a pharmacist, as well as someone in a business position you might be considering. Remember that pharmacy school might be busy and boring, but the actual work of a pharmacist might not be. On the other hand, the college experience of a business major/theater minor might be more fulfilling than the actual work you find after graduation. Consider which job you would find more fulfilling, and not necessarily which courses.
