So, I just finished my phase two. However, some issues came up, and I was wondering if these are going to utterly shred my Freshman schedule.

First, I was auto-waitlisted for College Writing R4B, presumably because the system doesn't know that I have AP Credit to get in.

Second, my E10 lab section conflicted with my Math 53 discussion section (all other E10 lab sections conflicted with other classes that couldn't possibly be moved). However, in order to get onto the waitlist for another Math 53 discussion, I had to cancel my original Math 53 and join the waitlist for it AND the discussion section.

Is this something that's going to royally screw me over later (given that I am currently only enrolled in 7 formal units)?

Hmmm… Well, a lot of people drop 53, so if your pretty high on the waitlist you should get in. Plus, if you know you can get into CW R4B, then you should be fine.

You were waitlisted for College Writing R4B because it was full for your category:

Instructor Approval; a Class Entry Code is required to enroll in these seats. (Open)

Open seating (Full)

You need the instructor’s approval, then they give you a unique CEC to register. Contact the instructor ASAP or you will have to hope someone drops. These kinds of classes don’t have a high drop rate, raising the risk that you will not be in it when the semester starts.

Thanks! Just emailed him.

A lot of math GSI’s are pretty nice about what discussion you attend, assuming it isn’t too full. Even if you don’t officially get in, there’s a decent chance you’ll be able to talk to the GSI’s about being enrolled in one and attending another, and if you’re lucky you’ll have a GSI who teaches multiple sections making this even easier. Lots of people don’t go to discussion (except for quiz days) so there’s usually room.

well, if E10 conflicts with ur other classes, u can take E7 instead.

the same thing happened to me…i got waitlisted for some of my classes! but thanks for the info!
