<p>I'm probably going to be majoring in CS or physics and I'd like to continue on and get a PhD. If I get my undergraduate degree at University of Alabama, how much will that hurt my chances at a graduate program like Columbia? This as opposed to going to Columbia for undergrad as well.</p>

<p>I agree with Zuma. Get a good GPA, do well on the GRE's and get involved in the research work of a faculty member in your department and you will have lots of choices when it comes to grad school. the most improtant thing is to get to know your profs as soon as possible.</p>
