Hey everyone,

I'm a 3rd year mechanical engineering student at a top 5 US engineering school. I would really like to continue my studies in a PhD program. I've always loved doing research and learning about new things. What are my chances at the top schools i.e. MIT, Stanford (masters), Berkeley, etc? Is there anything else I should do between now and app time to help my chances? Thanks in advance!

Here are a few of my credentials:

GPA: 3.9

Minor: Biology

GRE: haven't taken, but practice scores: 800 Q, 650 V, 5 AW

Research: 4 sem of research with 2 profs at school by app time, 1 research internship with Dept. of Energy at a national lab, hoping to present my research at a conference this fall, also hoping to get a publication in a research journal by app time

LOR: great hopefully-my research advisers have been happy with my work

Awards: school of mechanical engineering scholarship, school research award
(I know I might be a bit lacking here)

Citizenship: permanent resident (if it affects funding)

I would like to do bio-related research in a mechanical department or bioengineering in grad school. I know there might be other schools I should consider like JHU, Duke, etc.

Really sorry for the long post...

I'd really appreciate any feedback. Thanks!
