Hello Everyone!

I am trying to find 1) LESS COMPETETIVE schools that 2) offer PhD in Economics 3) with funding.

Do you guys know of any such schools?

there are lots. look at all your state schools. what state are you in?

mv0027, I am an international student from Nepal.

Any help????

well..there are lots of factors to consider. Do you have an undergrad? If so, what is it in? Have you taken the GRE? If so, what was your score? What math courses have you taken? The majority of state schools will offer PhD in Economics and they will not be as competitive. For example, I know Texas a&m has a program. As does the University of North Texas. University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University have one. There are literally hundreds of programs in the US. The more I know about your background the better I can help you...

Hello mv0027, I am from Nepal. It is a small country between India and China. I attended 12 years of formal schooling in Nepal and am currently enrolled at Kathmandu College of Management (KCM), majoring in BBA (Bachelors of Business Administration) in Kathmandu, Nepal. Like in the US, it is a four year undergraduate program. I am a junior this year.

By the time I will graduate, I will have taken the following classes: Statistics I, Statistics II, Mathematics I (Calculus), Mathematics II (Multivariable Calculus), Financial Accounting I, Financial Accounting II, Business Management, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Information Systems Technology, Managerial Finance I, Managerial Accounting, Managerial Communication, Business Law, Economic, Managerial Finance II, Quantitative Techniques, Organizational Behavior, Marketing, Management Information Systems, Operations Management, Human Resource Management, International Business, Entrepreneurship and New Business Formation, Strategic Management, Marketing Research, Sales Management, Advertising and Promotion Management, Supply Chain Management, and Productivity and Quality Management.

Just to let you know, unlike in the US, there are no more courses offered here so even if I wanted to take Linear Algebra, Real Analysis, etc, I simply can't. I hope the admissions committe will understand that. It is something out of my control. However, KCM is one of the top business schools here in Nepal.

Planning on taking the GRE. In practice tests, I got 410 V, 700 Q and 5 W.

I am looking forward to hearing from you mv0027.
