@omgjusttellme, is the soccer camp at Exeter?

@booklady123 no, it’s in Maine.

@omgjusttellme Is it pre-season? Is it a school-run camp?

It’s a school-run camp with a whole bunch of other prep schools at the same time.

Still confused…you are attending this through Exeter?

@booklady123 I’ll PM you

Can you PM me too? Please? >:D<

@omgjusttellme, if you’re arriving just a day early, on sept. 1st, many other students will be returning that day as well, so I wouldn’t worry about it. However, anytime before that might be very problematic, because dorms will not be open yet and hotels require an 1 + adult. It would be smart to get in touch with the dean’s regardless about the best thing to do. Good luck!

Hey guys, I posted here before saying that I was an incoming upper but I realized I messed up. I hadn’t gotten used to the exonian terms yet xD. I’m an incoming lower. Anyone else in my class, 2017, here?

Oh, and my parents decided that we should go even earlier (August 29th) for Exeter. Just to save money on flights and have fun in New hampshire. Hmm, I don’t know how was it will be waiting those first couple of days to go to Exeter. Not to mention my whole family is coming to drop me off :P

Go shopping…Kittery, ME is about 20 minutes away…Have some fried clams at Bob’s Clam Shack!

Kittery Outlets - Home;

Downtown Portsmouth is a great place to dine and shop.

LL Bean is about one hour away.

Dorms and advisors have been emailed in!

What’s the dress code at Exeter?

On the PEA website:

"For Boys
A shirt and tie. Jeans are okay, as long as they do not have holes.
For Girls
A dress, skirt or nice slacks with blouse, sweater, collared shirt, or turtleneck.

Hemmed shorts may be worn.
Ethnic attire is acceptable.
All clothing must be clean and in good repair (not torn, frayed or cut off).
Shirts with tails must be tucked in.
Skirts and shorts must reach at least to the fingertips.
The following items are prohibited: revealing necklines, tank tops, spaghetti straps, bare midriffs, T-shirts, sweatshirts, military fatigues, overalls, athletic wear."

How is the travel usually done? At the beginning of the year do you fly by yourself or do your parents drive you? What about on holidays? When your start the year how is all of the luggage handled? Can your parents ship it to you by trunk? How much clothes and other items do you usually bring (girl)? Can you bring furniture? Sorry I’m pretty new to technical parts of boarding.

@Addie, some students fly and some drive, it depends on available time and distance. Exeter sends out a shipping address for purchased or shipped items, and those boxes are placed in your room prior to move-in. Move-in day the proctors and parents help with luggage. I suggest NOT bringing too much, because most people borrow things and it takes a few months to figure out what you really want. Many new students plan a shopping trip during parent’s weekend in October, for example.

The dorm rooms are supplied with desk, desk chair, dresser, closet, lamp and bed. Many students get some type of storage that can fit under the lofted bed - wire, wicker, or plastic shelving for example. Upholstered furniture is discouraged (bugs and fire risk). Many students bring or get posters, removable wall art, rugs, big pillows, and memory foam mattress toppers. The E-book has specifics, a few things are not allowed (irons for example).
