Anyone gone? it looks freaking amazing, but it’s expensive. I kind’ve want to know if it’s worth it. Is it a good academic experience? Good personal experience? Would it help with college apps? Thanks.

Bump...(10 character limit = dumb)

I went to the Summer School for the summer of 2004. I loved it. I took courses in things that my school just didn't offer (Social Psychology, Criminal Justice, Marine Biology). I also took a lot of day trips to Boston. It was really fun. The Academy is an amazing place.

Awesome, I'm really thinking of taking it. Anyone know how it looks on college apps? Same as other summer programs, better worse? If it's equal or better I think Exeter may be where I'm spending my summer.

Anyone else?

It was really fun.. but I don't know if it will affect college admissions much.
You'll make friends that you keep in touch with forever.

amazing..i went before my junior yr, im still in touch with a lot of people. it is worth the $.

if it costs money, i don't think it will be anything special on the app. Though if the experienece is a good one and you are able to attend, don't miss out. Attending a program like that shows your motivated atleast, even if it isn't exactly prestigious.

I thought the Phillips Exeter thing was prestigious nealious. The social isn't really so much what I'm looking for (I've gone to the same camp for the past 7 years, if I wanted social I'd just go back there), but what's it like academically?
