Philly vs. Boston

I don't really want to compare the schools that I'm interested in, but I do want to compare locations. I have been to both and I like/dislike both for different reasons. Personally, I want to live in a city that has a hip, artsy vibe. I want a good music scene with small, basement concerts and cool venues. I want a city where I can go thrifting and go to a cute, vegetarian restaurant for lunch. I want a city filled with awesome, unpretentious people. Also, I want a little of a party scene. Not necessarily good bars and stuff, but like a place where there is fun apartment parties. Also, I really like like Williamsburg/bushwick in Brooklyn, so which one do you think is most like that. Boston or philly? Help me decide!

I am from Philly and am pretty much the exact opposite of you. Philly, at least for me, is all about the cheesesteak and the sports (and the history), but at the same time, there is too much of that stuff for me, but I would imagine that there would be more of that in Boston than in Philly. You will be fine, unless you go down South (I was visiting a large Southern flagship school this weekend, and all that it was sounds like the opposite of what you want).
