so one of my best friends is in hawaii right now..we both have verizon for our cell phone service and i was just wondering, does anybody know if it costs extra to call or text her from all the way over here in california? or would it be the same as if she were still in cali?

I doubt it. Isn't Verizon to Verizon free? And if there is no roaming, then there is no problem.

ok..i just wasn't sure if there would be a long distance charge

^ I don't think so, but I am not sure. You can check their website?

yeah..i think i'll do that

Cool, I hate Verizon though. They have complete control over my town's internet and phone service, so they can me as slow as they want. It took them over a week to come to our house to fix something which only took 5 seconds anyways. Urg.

It's free.

But does anyone know how much texting is if you don't have a plan regarding it? Everyone I know has plans and texts me...and it's getting annoying.

^I believe it's $0.15 per message, incoming or outgoing. I think the rate is the same for most of the carriers.

Crap. I'm going to kill my friend.

no, it's the same price as a regular call. i live in hawaii and my mom lives in boston, but we both have verizon so it's free.

Verizon loves overcharging their customers.
