Did anyone else receive a phone call from UCLA alumni today? I didn't answer it and they didn't leave a message but I googled the number and it was from UCLA.

I did. Well, I’m assuming it was an alumni and not a current student. She just asked me why I hadn’t SIR’d and what was holding me back. She invited me to several transfer events and asked if I had any questions. A doctor from Berkeley, presumably a professor or dean, actually called me on the other line to ask the same questions right before I hung up with the chick from UCLA. Oh , and UCSD called me on Friday asking the same things. I think this is pretty standard.

I received one from UCSD. They congratulated me and asked me if I had any questions. I told her I already SIRed to UCSB and thanked. It’s pretty cool that they do that.

I got one from UCSD last week, and one from UC Berkeley yesterday. Both calls were part of student outreach, to encourage accepted students to attend their respective universities. Haven’t received one from UCLA yet.

I got a call from a UCLA current student (might have said alumni i dont remember) congratulating me on being accepted and asking me if i had any questions etc. Kinda inconvenient since i was cramming for a phil exam that was an hour away but i appreciated the gesture!
