Does anyone have any information regarding Acting/MT phone calls for this year from CMU?

Nope – just that in years past the calls began the third week of March, sometimes on the weekend, other times on a weekday. So hopefully they’ll start soon!

Oh good grief, I thought they had started X_X

Psych!

Lol!!!

If my son knew how obsessed and attached I have become to all of the support on CC from the fabulous parents on here, he would disown me…

Just wondering if it’s too early to be freaking out and waiting for a call…

I think it’s too early. I haven’t seen anything posted. The rumor is it’s going to start this week. Gook luck to you!

Thanks!! Let me know if you hear anything else.

Last year apparently Gary made calls on St. Patrick’s Day, which was on a Sunday, so that’s where the speculation about this year’s phone calls is coming from. Remember, a watched phone never rings…

Good luck to all and I hope you the best

This a.m., CMU Admission’s Facebook page posted this: The countdown to our decision letter mailing will start at some point this week! Decisions will also be online 4 days after the mail date.

But doesn’t the School of Drama make calls to accepted Acting/MT students a few days/a week before the official mailing date?

Yes, they have in the past, @ravensnsoxMT. And from what Barbara said at auditions, they intend to do that this year too. So I’d guess that this week they’ll be making some phone calls.

Okay, thanks for the info @AsstToTheMT

is it safe to assume that no calls are going out today? 8-|

There were some evening calls last year.

Is there any method to their madness or do we have no idea when calls could go out this week?

There is no method. But logically, it helps to picture this: They are just back from spring break, which they spent in NYC doing the senior showcase. So it’s the first day back at their desks and in their classrooms. They have to do their regular jobs teaching, which can include evening rehearsals, and there are probably a ton of phone calls to return and emails to catch up on. So maybe they are looking for time in their schedules where they know they can sit down and make a few uninterrupted phone calls to the newly accepted students. And there’s no way to predict when they will find those little pockets of time. They might call during the day, they might call after class, or after rehearsal. A call could come anytime of day, I think.

Thanks for the post, that’s a great way to look at it. Do you know if any phone calls have been made so far?
