Hi all,

I applied for a PhD in Social Psychology and I was just contacted by my potential mentor to set up a phone interview! The school isn't my #1, but it's certainly high on my list, so I'm thrilled to have made it this far!

My potential mentor seems VERY enthusiastic about my application... so much so that I'm a bit nervous as to how to handle it. I'm not sure if I should match her enthusiasm or "play it cool?" Obviously my enthusiasm would be in a professional manner, but I'm just not sure if it will be beneficial to me to make her feel like I'm not DYING to go there, so they'll want me more? Or am I being ridiculous?

Any specific advice on this situation- or just phone interview tips in general- would be greatly appreciated, as this is my first one.

Best of luck to everyone who is also starting to hear back from their schools!
