Any advice? I'm interviewing for a camp councilor position for Camp Fire USA. Any ideas on how to make the best of the interview? I'm freaked out.

Write down some questions you might have so that when they ask if you have any questions, you’ll have something to say. Maybe make a list of likely questions they will ask you and run through it. Try to be in the most quiet place possible and make sure everyone knows not to disrupt you. Maybe put a sign on your door.

Phone interviews are kind of weird, but just remember that you can take a moment to think before you answer.

Good luck!

Chill out. You’re more qualified than you know. Talk about what you enjoy and what you’ve put a lot of time into. Since it’s a volunteer/leadership position, expect to expand on your life experiences, how certain situations have helped you grow, and how you expect to handle problems and lead those in your group. When it comes down to it though, they’re just looking for someone who has the personality to make it fun and the integrity to make it successful. There’s no one distinct personality they’re looking for. Just be yourself. Interviewers are incredibly normal people.

For future reference, what I did was list everything (clubs, sports, classwork, and people in general) that has made an impact on my life. Then I wrote incredibly detailed accounts (what happened, how it could’ve happened, what I learned from it, etc.) about them. Now instead of having a list of answers to specific questions, I can just draw from these experiences I’ve already analyzed.

Good luck!

Why do you want to be such a thing?

be right next to your computer so you can quickly google stuff or something. Have the campfire usa website open in case they ask you something stupid like their mission.

Fifteen minutes until they call. Ah!

good luck! :)

Thanks! Five minutes. A friend just texted me and I jumped SO high.

Ha ha! Thanks everyone! Looks like I just got offered the job!

aww yay :)
