Hello everyone, I'm going to talk the ACT tomorrow but I have a concern about my photo ID I need to present to take the test. I have a school photo ID of me from the 2010-2011 school year, but what I'm wondering is can it be considered "current" by the ACT? Because the student ID cards for the current year in my school are not for sale until next week. And the only other ID I have that has a picture of me is a passport but I don't think the picture of me is current even though the passport itself is.

So with the current photo ID I have now, would I be able to take the test or would I be screwed? Thanks!

If you are taking it at the school, and they know about the cards not being on sale until then you should be fine. They’re not gonna look at the picture and want you to match perfectly.

Well, the test site is not in my school, but I guess you’re right about how they may not be so draconian in terms of matching me and the picture. Should I also tell the proctors that the ID cards are not in sale in my school or would they argue that I could have asked my school to give me an acceptable photo ID? (I’m sorry for being too paranoid about it)

I would take both your passport and school ID with you just to make sure. Get to bed and get a good night sleep! (can’t resist the “mom instinct”, sorry!)

And don’t forget your sharpened #2 pencils and calculator with fresh batteries. I’m only telling you this because my own son forgot his ID when he went to take his SAT II’s and had to reschedule (luckily he missed the May sitting so could reschedule in June). I don’t want you to forget ANYTHING this close to application time.
