@Marilyn I love the rose garden at Balboa Park! I’m going to visit my daughter in September and she now lives walking distance to the rose garden. I’m already planning on incorporating that into my daily walks during my trip. The cactus garden is also very cool!
We like the spring bloom in the desert garden - so many flowering cacti. What my niece did love was the Spanish Art Village - sort of a hidden treasure in Balboa Park.
@Marilyn yes, the Art Village was a nice surprise! My first time to Balboa Park several years ago, my mother was with me and we stopped in there. So many interesting things. We bought several pieces of jewelry.
Tasting wines in ‘Ville. The dragonfly that has been guarding the bridge is still keeping an eye on the foot traffic crossing the river.
We are in NJ for a ballet thing, and my older daughter and I went for a hike here. I think MN spoiled us, because when we spotted this bridge from afar we were expecting some pretty water under it… but there was just grass. Still pretty, but weird. Ha!
We made it from Princeton to Philly today, and it felt so good to be home, even if only for a little while. Philadelphia’s city hall is actually my favorite building in the whole country.
It amazes me just how quickly grandkittens grow in a mere month:
Here’s Katara now - still loves being on a laptop!
A sego lily found in Valles Caldera National Preserve in Northern NM. It was truly more deep magenta colored in real life!
Apparently NM is in the midst of the second worst drought in 1700 years. You wouldn’t know it by the tall green grass and abundance of wildflowers in the park.
What a pretty flower! I’ve been obsessed with all the pretty flowers I’ve come across lately. My favorite recently was also a purple one.
Look closely and you can find our baby racoon. It was dropped by a hawk this evening and landed on our shrubs. We’re waiting for a wildlife rescue to come get it.
That’s gorgeous! Is it a Passion flower? It sparked something in my subconscious.
It is a Passion flower!
Yup! Passiflora indeed! Love these.
Ok, this is actually a screen shot, but I was so amazed by her determination that I had to share. DH and I have been involved with USMS (US Masters Swimming) for years and were watching results come in from nationals when I saw this. Her age is circled in red, truly inspiring.
She is 98??? Wow!
Yep
Sooo inspiring!!
