Not the poster but it’s a male cardinal. The state bird of Ohio

I love birds in winter, just something about the colors and watching them

It’s a spectacular photo (and bird!). Thank you!

We have the cardinals all over our feeders, but this guy was waiting his turn to eat, so he presented a more naturalistic pose.

Lovely. We lived on the 30th floor of one of those skyline buildings the first three years of our marriage. I miss the lake and that city.

Wolfie’s and Mr. A’s! That carousel bar is on my wish list when I’m ready to eat/drink indoors again.

Did you happen to bump into Inspector Morse by any chance??

@Marilyn - we wanted to go to Mr. A’s before it gets remodeled under the new owner. It was a gorgeous night and we had an amazing meal. Wolfie’s was fun, but very loud. We were definitely the oldest two couples in the bar. Make sure to get a reservation when you go.

Finished the San Diego staycation with a 5 mile hike at Torrey Pines. It was 68 degrees and a beautiful afternoon to walk and enjoy nature.

I took a photo while walking today. If you want to see it, you’ll need to stop by my *Run / walk exercise * thread

This isn’t the best photo but was trying to capture our lovely blue sky and the neighbor’s fragrant and gorgeous red roses.

The first weekend on the new snowmobile my dad got us - we were supposed to get it last year, but COVID delayed everything.

It’s a lot of fun, but a little more harrowing than I expected on ungroomed trails - it tips back and forth! Next weekend, we’re going to try out the extensive system of groomed trails north of us. There is an entire world of trails and snowmobile clubs we didn’t know existed. We’re looking forward to a lot of adventures.

It’s been a long and dreary January in much of England, but not this afternoon!

A bit of political and cultural history today. Karl Marx’s tomb in Highgate, London…

…and the late Wham! singer George Michael’s home nearby.
