Wish it were still EU blue across the Channel :pensive:

We had an “aggressively Minnesota” (according to my daughter) day for my husband’s last frozen birthday. Ice go karting followed by snow sculptures. Next year we’ll be flipped on his bday- in NM vs MN- and I think the pics will be VERY different. Ha.

That is beautiful; who does the sculptures?

I didn’t get pics of the plaques, unfortunately. I was masked, which for me means my glasses were in my purse and words were a non-start. I believe it was a contest and the flags in front showed what country the artist(s) were from- this one was from the US. There was a range in quality, and one in particular (below) that we found kinda terrifying.

My camellias are loaded down with buds/blooms. I’m not used to the varieties that bloom in 20° temps, but it’s a nice change from the winter blahs.

A few blooms in Balboa Park. I went to a botany Meetup stroll on Friday, then to the zoo for an hour to see the newest exhibits. I took the Skyride to the north end and walked back down to the exit. Yesterday, a group of guys in their early 20’s rocked their gondola so much that it went off track and shut down the ride for a hour, stranding 100 visitors. One of my phobias about gondolas; thankfully not while I was on it.

The men were arrested for felony vandalism.

H and I walked to Gliderport yesterday while the golf was going on at Torrey Pines. I always love the view of the green from the south course coming to the edge of the cliffs above Balck’s Beach.

Big “like” for the photos, but a definite “dislike” to the idiots in the gondola.

La Jolla Hilton is one of our favorite places to stay in the area - it is located within an easy walk to the Torrey Pines hiking trails and the gliderport. We always visit both when we are there.

@milgymfam, that snow sculpture reminds me of the statue of the little girl in Squid Game. No wonder it’s terrifying!

Just read that the idiots were Marines assigned to the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing based here in San Diego. So they could also be charged under Federal law.

My D’s cat, Kona, is with me for a couple of weeks while she’s off on a movie set designing costumes - sweetie hopped up on the couch, snuggled deep in, put her leg over my arm (I assume to ensure I was staying put) and is now purring like mad. She knows I adore her.

I think my dog is judging me yet she is the one who occasionally drinks from a toilet.

It’s world tutu day, so here is my (blurred) ballerina in her gorgeous costume from Snow in the Nutcracker in celebration.
