Beautiful snow today
So that’s why God invented cold weather.
Great photos !
To have that kind of mix, I suspect there could have been a Lady and the Tramp story or two involved.
Crocuses are starting to bloom - first flowers of the year if you don’t count the stray dandelion or buttercup. Having flowers definitely makes it feel like spring is near.
Lol, yes! One parent was thought to be all Aussie, the other was the mix of Great Pyrenees and Coonhound! He must have gotten his floppy double dew claws from the Pyrenees ancestor, they are one of the breeds where that is common. Herding dogs and Great Pyrenees often live together. One herds the livestock, the other protects it from predators.
Where is that?! Beautiful!

@Marilyn - I wanted to share my painting inspired by your photo. Thank you for indulging me.
@JustaMom - that’s wonderful - very impressive! You could set up as a vendor by the pier and overcharge tourists - they would snap it up.
I just might!
@JustaMom That is gorgeous! I would love to buy a set of notecards if you ever sold some on Etsy, for example!
That’s so flattering, thank you - I made calendars last year. Sold quite a few. I’ll let you know if I branch out.
A few years back, I took a watercolor course just for fun. My classmates were serious artists but I mainly wanted to paint some of my own photos. Essentially I graphed them out and did them like a paint by number. It worked out well enough but didn’t become a regular hobby.
My most elaborate painting was a triptych of the Curaçao waterfront from a favorite photo. The teacher had a little show each year and picked a few student paintings to display along with her own - and said we could price them. So just for fun I threw on a price tag of $125 - and someone bought it. Inexpensive paper and paint and frames from Michael’s shelves - I think the serious students were disgruntled. I was in shock.
I love this! Thank you for sharing - “safer at home” during COVID days gave me the “permission” I never gave myself to take time for painting. I love how it destroys any anxiety or depression I might be feeling at any time. I spent 15 days in Hawaii last month (and early March) using the islands as my muse. I love the medium. I hope you keep up with it.
My daughter loves to paint and draw, so I’ll share a few of my faves… and while I’m no artist, I did a thing last year where I sent my daughter one hand drawn post card a week for a year, and here are a couple of those…
@milgymfam these are awesome! I love them all and I love the reason behind them. So special.
