Our block has been the turnaround point at times for an every few years airshow, I love it!

OK, this isn’t a photo but a live cam of brown bears catching salmon as they swim upstream. Wasn’t sure where (or if) to post it but it sure is fun to watch for a little while!
“Brooks Falls in Alaska’s Katmai National Park is the best place in the world to watch brown bears feasting on salmon as they swim upstream to spawn.”

Going to this place is somewhat on my bucket list. I say somewhat, because it’s not easy to get there, and may not be worth the hassle if we ever make it to Alaska. But I think that’s so cool!

Love it!

Love the seagulls waiting for some left over scraps!

A friend in college took me to see the Thunderbirds, and I was just enthralled. So exciting!

For years afterwards I would have dreams of fighter jets flying very low over my house, so low that I had to drop to the ground while they screamed by overhead. But I loved it!

This was several years past; it was a great day and I can still feel the heat when they demonstrated how they bombed targets. We’ve seen both the Blue Angels and Thunderbirds in our years in Chicago, including practice day from a sailboat on Lake Michigan.

I love cats… esp co-workers and unapologetic shenanigan types.

When visiting my S earlier this week he told me one of my grandcats likes to close himself into the bathroom, on purpose, just to get attention, knowing someone will come when he cries, “Help.” He’ll do other rooms too, but the bathroom is this particular setting.

While in the kitchen playing a game S heard the familiar click of the door, followed by meows, and started to get up. I stopped him and went myself. His cats are a bit distrustful of new people at first and we don’t get to visit often. It was really, really cute seeing the cat’s reaction to Grandma coming, esp since Grandma didn’t just open the door, but came inside and closed it behind her. :sunglasses: I told S if he enlists more newcomers he could probably break the habit.

By the next day the same cat was happily in my arms when he wanted to be, so no harm done, but it was really, really cute at the time.

Tomorrow when a large delivery of cat nip and toys shows up from CHEWY I think you will know who is the responsible party. Those eyes are pure mischief!!

Beautiful pictures! Did you mean Trail Ridge Road? Hope you enjoyed your time in the park.

Love your pics too, @milgymfam. You’re making me homesick for NM. Happy to see you all settling in and enjoying the southwest.

I have a similar Water Lily (I think that’s what it is) pic from our trip to Punderson State Park in Ohio last week!

Otherwise, we really enjoyed prowling around The Ledges (trail) at Cuyahoga NP - the tree/rock “dibs” pic from before was from there too.
