A few more from our trip to Scotland last month:

Glencoe, The Glen of the Weeping, site of a massacre of the MacDonalds by the Campbells at the end of the first Jacobite Rebellion

Over the sea to Skye…

Eilean Donan Castle, home of the Clan MacRae

Cloisters at University of Glasgow—fans of the Harry Potter movies should recognize this location.

This one really touched me. The Italian Chapel on Orkney. Italian POW’s assigned to build the Churchill Barriers asked for a Catholic chapel to worship in. The British gave them 2 quonset huts, which, during their spare time with scrounged up materials, they built into this masterpiece. Evidence of the power of faith:

These photos are exquisite! Would you mind if I used one or two as inspiration for some watercolor painting? I’ll share a completed version if you’d like.

Of course! I’m sure your paints will make it even more beautiful than my iPhone!

Thank you! I’m just a person who sees beauty everywhere and always has her phone with her. Ha. My husband is always saying I should pursue it professionally, but I remind him that (1) owning a camera is kinda essential and (2) there is no money in nature photography anyway.

Jasper says hello. Seems our old mare wasn’t too old for one more after all, so a late season colt it is. He was born Oct 16th, making him a couple of weeks old now, but we were traveling shortly after his birth so I’m still catching up. The little dude is practically fearless. I envision a future eventer or similar.
