Yeah, ExpatS wanted to take us on that trip, too. Sigh.

It would have really been fun if we all could have been on the same train.

I’m not into murder, but other than that, it sure wouldn’t bug me to hear of Putin’s natural cause demise.

May I ask what camera you used for these pictures? Smartphone? Incredible detail.

I used my phone- an iPhone 12 Pro Max.

Do you get that quality of picture with a simple point and shoot approach? Or do you need to fiddle with the settings first?

I like taking pictures, but will never invest in a DSLR. I am due for a phone upgrade, though, so interested to hear your experience with the pro max.

I just point and shoot- there aren’t too many settings, really. Occasionally I will up the brightness prior to snapping pics, but that’s basically it.

I personally don’t have anything against filters for photos - and people who use them - as long as the pics still look “real”.

You can buy filters quite cheap to put on your photos - but some people take it too far - my god daughter , omg, she just want to look tan in every photo but the filter just makes everyone’s skin orange!!

Went hiking here last weekend. Croton Reservoir dam.

Please keep Maine a secret, ha. Or at least just tell people about the coast and don’t tell them about the beautiful inland areas. My view this afternoon. And it’s 73 degrees. :slightly_smiling_face:

If anyone ever wants to have a good shot at seeing a moose, just drive up and down Long Falls Dam Road at night. We saw two pairs of moose just last night. DH had to put on his brakes to avoid hitting one cow. He drives slowly, on cruise control and with his foot hovering above the brake pedal.

she might want to look into Photoshop Elements, the lightweight version of Photoshop for consumers. It’s easy to retouch people in it. These days some smart cameras have pretty good processing built in as well but I don’t have any experience using that.

Lol, she is perfectly happy with her skin looking “tan”, orange!!!

Took visitors out to Cabrillo today and saw this regatta coming in.

I took some visiting relatives to the zoo today and explained that the flamingos were off exhibit to protect them from bird flu (so were the penguins). But it turned out that there were a few outside - the nearby pond was empty and there were keepers nearby, so I think they were just letting part of the flock get some fresh air.

My other theory is these were the unpopular flamingos :flamingo:- maybe they bit the handler, or pooped on someone’s shoe, etc. Send them outside; that will teach them to behave ;).

My daughter was supposed to get married at Cabrillo, it had to be moved due to the government shut down about 4 years ago. It is a beautiful spot!
