Wow. My S23’s #1 college is Pitt. This might seal the deal if I show him this, god help me (we are sweating the cost…)

We were visiting there for my daughter and her husband getting their Master Degrees at Carnegie Mellon. I did walk the Pitt campus and go up in the Cathedral of Learning. Seems like a great place. Also went into Pitt’s football locker room over at Heinz field which they share with the Steelers. Good luck to you and your son.

p.s. Pitt is almost directly a mile or three behind center field.

I had not seen Lipstick Palms before going to the University of Puerto Rico’s Botanical Garden. They’re really pretty! On a different note, I wish the gardens had far more labelled! They have a lot of nice trees there. Fortunately my son knew what most of them were and gave us info.

This tree is Vieques’ famous 300-400 year old Ceiba tree. It’s very impressive.

The President arrived in town yesterday to meet with the Prime Ministers of Great Britain and Australia for a big submarine deal. Had we known his exact schedule, we could have waved as his motorcade drove by not all that far away.

He was scheduled to depart North Island today at 11:00 am. First we went down to Cabrillo at 10:15 - normally a sweeping view of the entire air field. But the Point was totally socked in. Next we headed down to Shelter Island - first to wait for about 45 minutes while the plane sat. We switched spots and waited another 30 minutes until it finally took off just before noon. We waved goodbye, like we always do for visitors.

Papago Buttes. I grew up not far away and hiked to Hole in the Rock regularly. One of the airlines was using a different view on a promotion for a while. Not sure where the circular wall might be.

I am going to miss this view - super peaceful today. H is using it as a work day (hence I’m on cc), but in a couple hours we’re going to go out in the water.

I love having a view no matter where we are, home or vacation.

I’d recognize that arboretum anywhere! I didn’t think I had seasonal allergies until I lived on that campus. :deciduous_tree: :chipmunk:

My daughter’s are so, so bad.

It is an absolute beautiful day to be out on the lake; high of 82° and not a soul around
