Beautiful!
I’m used to seeing rainbows as the sun sets through our cut glass front door windows. But yesterday was the first time I noticed how it was such a sharp angle that it went down an inside hall and highlighted my old cat statue. It was not as impressive today.
I’ve decided it only happens once a year (maybe twice) and have named it Cathenge.
My daughter asked me to make her some fimo clay border collie earrings. She likes quirky ones: e.g. she has kitchen aid mixer earrings among many other silly pairs. Here’s my result. They are about an inch tall - it was pretty hard! Especially since I haven’t made anything with fimo clay in about twenty years and that was only three little animal figures. The earrings and the model:
Love those, @LeastComplicated! What handsome dogs, too, and I’m a cat person.
excellent
Now I know where all the area baby deer are coming from.
We pretty quickly came to an agreement as to who represented the apex predator as I walked briskly away after he snorted.
I was just asked and yes that is a legitimate photo taken tonight and I did deliberately frame the ad
For those of us that celebrate, together let’s let go of this last year and allow the new year to be sweet and filled with wondrous adventure and joy. L’shana tova. For a sweet year ahead for us all. No exceptions.
I love everything about your post. Shana Tovah!
That is one fat squirrel! Apparently, squirrels reflect the quality of campus nutrition. The fatter the squirrels, the better the campus food options!
Love all of your photos.
The squirrels on the umich campus are famously large and fat!
@CollegeFrog1 is that today? I’m 4 hours north of Ann Arbor and not much color today here. That is one great looking tree!
Anywhere in Michigan with peak colors is gorgeous
@deb922 The Umich photos are from last fall … September is too early for this level of color …

No wonder! The squirrel on the pic turned up its nose at a walnut! What food do they expect ?! :)
Michigan has a Squirrel Club. This is how they’re putting on that freshman fifteen.
I didn’t know whether to put this here or on the bragging thread! I did this 1000 piece puzzle all by myself. Usually my very very spacially talented daughter helps me, but not this time! I really wasn’t sure I’d complete it before our vacation ended…but I did! Took 5 days working on it off and on.
So beautiful!!
We spend a couple of days in Amsterdam prior to a river cruise. Liked the city a lot more than we thought we would. Have you tried a rijstafel? If you’re not familiar, look it up—fun Indonesian cuisine–a result of the seafaring days of the 17th century golden age of the Netherlands.
Is that offered primarily in the red light district?
Just kidding. We actually enjoyed some Indonesian inspired food last evening. I have been here several times and find it very livable, the people likable and the history fascinating although sometimes disturbing.
