PHYS 121 vs 114

err basically 12x vs 11x series of physics.

So in most science related majors, there's a physics requirement. A choice between 11x series (more algebra based...easier) and 12x series (calc...harder)

Buuuut, they always seem to encourage the 12x series and have it "recommended" over the 11x series.

For a non-engineering major like chem or neurobiology, is it a big deal taking one series over the other? I don't know how strong my physics knowledge is. My gpa isn't really in the mood for "testing" out classes...

Have you taken any physics before? I am a physics major myself, so taking the 12x series isn’t an option for me, BUT I took the 11x series as well because I had never taken a drop of physics in my life beforehand. I would say that if you don’t have much physics knowledge take the 11x. The stories I’ve heard about the 12x sequence have been pretty brutal, and I think it would be difficult without pre-existing physics experience.
