question about physics for engineering

i read on the stanford website somewhere that engineering students are recommended to take physics 50 series instead of the 20 series. Is it still possible to take the 20 series if you were an engineering major somehow? or is it pretty much required to take the 50 series (or higher)?

bump~

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A number of Stanford's engineering departments (it might be all of them, I haven't checked thoroughly) require the physics 50 or 60 sequence. The 20 sequence is non-calculus based, I believe, and it's more or less designed for premeds, so although the material is easier, that sequence might actually be more cutthroat. Take the 50 sequence.

I think most if not all engineering majors require the 50 sequence.
