The Phys 8A profs for the fall semester are Shapiro and Deweese. Taking it with Shapiro would give me a more ideal schedule (fewer gaps and hence more time for other activities), but I've heard that she makes a lot of mistakes on her lectures and exams which worries me. On the other hand, I've heard really good things about Deweese. Since both sections are normally webcasted and I can just watch the other prof's lectures, I'm wondering if they both follow the same sequence of topics? Do the midterms for both profs usually cover the same material at the same time? Will it even help me to watch Deweese's lectures if I'm still going to have to take Shapiro's reportedly poorly written exams? Anybody here have any experience with Shapiro and/or Deweese?

Physics 8A for deweese is actually only audiocast and with all the diagrams in physics it is UTTERLY useless IMO.

I don’t know about Shapiro, but this is the second semester I’ve had Deweese (8B now). His lectures are very useless, and you’re going to have to learn the material on your own. That being said, his tests are sometimes tricky, but fair.
