Physical chemistry; which physics?

Hey guys,

I was wondering if algebra based physics will be useful or I will be in a disadvantage? I’m doing a minor in chemsitry and math. So I’m not sure when I will take PCHEM. Probably after partial differential equations I will take it. I’m hoping to take it in fall 2019 or spring 2020.im a tranafer student who recently changed major to biology.

Thanks,
Christian

NOTE: I’m asking becaaue I will be taking general physics 1 and 2 in the summer 2018

If you will be taking the needed math anyway, why not just choose the calculus based physics?

My community college doesn’t offer it the summer.

P-chem typically requires both calculus and physics, but not necessarily calculus-based physics. However, calculus is the natural language of physics, and to best learn physics itself, you may want to consider the calculus-based form. Think about your comfort level with the field as well. Mastering the assigned material in algebra-based physics could be more valuable to you than taking a more difficult class for which you feel you are not fully prepared.
