Physical Disabilities and College Admissions

A friend at my school is in a wheelchair and he asked me for advice and I didn't know what to tell him- so I'm trying to get another perspective.

My friend has very good GPA(not sure exactly but probably 4.0 uw)/test scores(35 act)/EC's(even with his disability) and is overall a great person.

He is really trying to decide if he should disclose his disability to schools he is applying to, as he feels like he wants to get into his schools on merit alone. Obviously during his interviews for schools the topic came up, but for the others that he did not interview at he has to make a decision.

He is applying to very competitive schools (Ivies and others) and I personally feel like it would give him a much needed edge in the admissions that he deserves- he has had to work harder his entire life to have the same level of success.

Anyways I understand his decision either way , I'm just looking for some other opinions.

!bump~ would appreciate any helpful responses

He should ask if one of his recommendation writers mentioned it; the issue may already be settled. It might even be better that way. If he writes about it, it should not sound like his disability is the cause of any shortcomings.
