Physician Assistant vs. Anesthesiologist Assistant programs

My daughter (college freshman) is considering both, including the MD route. Any opinions? So far I’ve learned that PAs have the luxury of practicing in every state, while AAs are limited to fewer states. I’ve also learned that AAs may be competing with more politically powerful CRNAs and there seems to be a worry that CRNAs may try to prevent AAs from expanding into more states. I’m not sure if AAs require the 500-2000 clinical hours prior to admittance typical of PA programs. Any other insights? Pros and cons to consider in comparing these programs?

She would have more options seeking a PA degree. If she decided she no longer wanted to do anesthesia, her PA license would allow her to easily switch to any other medical specialty.
