Physics 151 and 152

I know I've asked this under a thread but just to start a new one: How is Physics 151 and 152?

Don’t take if unless you have to. It’s not hard but its unnecessary work unless you have to take it. Especially when you can take 141/142

gonna have to disagree with youknowme123. Even it it isn’t required, physics is best understood through calculus, and not so much the trig approximations you have to deal with in 141/142. Also, if you are considering grad school or med school or any science major you should DEFINITELY take it to get a more rigorous understanding of the subject. And yes med schools dont require calc-based physics but with competition to get into med school becoming ever more intense (such that only about 1/2 of all emory undergrads will get into at least a single med school in any application cycle), taking the bare minimum courseload isn’t a good idea. And besides for some reason Emory is one of the few top schools to still offer a trig-based physics option. Peer schools and even lower-ranked neighboring schools like GA Tech are now only offering a calc-based physics class, and I personally think Emory should do the same. Of course that’s gonna be hard for the department to justify until most of the mediocre and weaker premeds here cut out with the “if I don’t need it for the MCAT or med school then there’s no reason to take it” mentality.

Thanks a lot. And, funny because I am a Tech student (Bio). Just looking at other places to take the credit because I plan on staying in the area for the summer but not near Tech. So, I’m thinking why not get a physics out of the way somewhere else lol
