Physics for pre-med student!

So I'm a freshman, and I'm a very mathy/sciency kinda person, and I am in LSA Honors. All my other pre-med friends who didn't take physics in high school are planning on taking PHYSICS 135/136 (the life sciences version, which I hear is easier), but since I took AP physics C in high school, got a 4 on the mechanics and e&m exams, and am pretty confident in my physics abilities, I am considering taking PHYSICS 140/141, which I hear is more work and harder. While I feel more comfortable taking 140/141, most of my pre-med friends are discouraging me, so I'm not sure what to do. Do you think taking general physics is a good idea, or should I go for the easier version? Which one is more likely to help with the MCAT also?

Thanks!

If you did AP in high school, then 140/141 will be fine for you. It’s not terribly difficult.

I agree, if you took a good AP Physics course in high school (and by the looks of your scores, you did) than 140 won’t be hard at all. The rotational stuff is always a little tricky, but the average in the class will be soooooo low that it shouldn’t matter. You don’t even really have to do your HW if you don’t feel like you need to. Every mastering physics problem ever is on the internet somewhere.

Alright, I will most likely take 140/141 then. Thanks!
