I go to a branch campus right now but I will attend U - Park next year. I'm currently taking physics 250 but the professor is regarded as terrible. He's the only professor who teaches 250 and after being in his class I feel that he won't teach anything. I wanted to take physics here because I thought it would have been easier but now I'm thinking of taking it at U - Park. How is the algebra based physics there ? If you took physics, who do you recommended? I took physics in H.S and I sucked at it so it's very important that I get a good teacher.

Can someone also explain to me what recitation is? Apparently there’s a lab, lecture and a recitation. How does that work?

I’m bumping this. The professor who teaches 250 there now is Hopkins. Anyone have/had him.

I haven’t taken a physics course here yet, but I think all recitation classes meet once a week with a smaller class size. I think for a lot of the intro courses, lectures are usually 200+ people and each recitation group has about 25-30 students. I’m in Chem110, and my recitation is lead by a TA and you go over problem sets from the homework, do classwork sheets, and have short “recitation” quizzes at the end. You can also ask the TA with specific questions you have.
